Meet the team behind this journey DeepL is not just a translation tool; we are building the Operating System for Global Communication . We are the rare AI company that builds the entire stack in-house: from training next-gen LLMs on our own NVIDIA DGX SuperPODs to delivering real-time Language AI to over 300 million users and 200,000+ businesses globally.
You will join the Identity and Access Management team . Owning DeepL's full identity stack: organisation, group, account, consent and session management, SSO federation, SCIM provisioning, and the OIDC provider, for both internal and external users. It is the foundation every DeepL product relies on to authenticate and authorise users securely and at scale. When identity is unavailable, no one can log in, so reliability and performance sit at the heart of everything the team does.
" We don't hire engineers to simply maintain legacy endpoints or close Jira tickets. We hire Missionaries —builders who obsess over the Why before the How. You will contribute across the stack, shipping features that create delightful, frictionless experiences for both external developers and internal engineering teams. Your responsibilities Ship Features, Not Just Code: You will own the implementation of end-to-end features.
You won't just write functions in isolation; you will ensure your code solves the actual user problem, works in production, and is covered by robust tests.
Collaborate to Raise the Bar
You will work closely with teammates across Identity and adjacent teams. You will actively participate in code reviews, design discussions, and contribute to shared standards. You aren't afraid to ask for help, but you also aren't afraid to challenge a design if you think there is a better way.
Leverage Modern Tooling
You will use AI-assisted tools (like Copilot and Claude) to handle boilerplate and refactoring, allowing you to focus on logic and product value. We value engineers who use the best tools to ship faster.
Build for Quality
You will write well-tested, production-ready code that your future self (and your team) will thank you for. You understand that "speed" doesn't mean "sloppy"—it means building reliable software that doesn't break at 2am. You will participate in incident response, learn from postmortems, and help the team continuously raise the bar on code quality and operational health Qualities we look for Ownership and Reliability: You take responsibility for what you ship. You write tests, monitor your code in production, and follow through when things go wrong.
You're proactive about flagging issues and asking for help when you need it, and you treat each incident as an opportunity to learn Strong Engineering Fundamentals: You have a solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, and clean coding principles. You can take a complex logic problem and break it down into small, solvable pieces. You understand the challenges with building and operating reliable, high throughput services Adaptability: You have a good foundation in backend development and server-side systems. NET Core, Cassandra, gRPC, and Kubernetes.
We don't expect you to be an expert in all of them today, but we expect you to be willing to jump in and learn whatever tool gets the job done.
Enterprise Domain Curiosity
You are interested in the hard problems of B2B SaaS Identity - authentication (SSO/OIDC), authorization, and requirements such as security and auditing. You understand that these aren't "boring details"; they are the pillars of trust for enterprise clients .
AI-Native Velocity
You leverage AI-powered tools (like GitHub Copilot or Claude) to accelerate your velocity and eliminate repetitive toil. You use AI for boilerplate code, test generation, and debugging, allowing you to focus your cognitive energy on high-value architectural decisions and complex problem-solving.
