ABOUT THE ROLE
Join a small, fast-moving engineering team at a seed-stage AI voice platform company building the infrastructure that powers thousands of automated customer conversations every day. This is a high-impact, end-to-end ownership role — you'll work directly alongside customers, shape core architecture decisions, and ship meaningful product experiences in an AI-first, communications-enabled environment. You'll be part of a driven, low-ego team working on-site in Berlin.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Work closely with customers to deeply understand their problems and design product experiences that solve real challenges.
- Build scalable backend infrastructure capable of handling thousands of AI-driven phone calls per day.
- Create intuitive, AI-first user experiences that set a new standard for human–machine interaction.
- Own high-stakes projects end-to-end — from initial concept through production deployment and post-release support.
- Contribute to core architectural decisions that shape the platform's future.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required
- 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong PostgreSQL experience, including complex queries, performance tuning, and optimization.
- Proven experience designing scalable backend architectures and making core product and architectural decisions.
- Experience with scalable async processing or real-time processing systems.
- Hands-on experience building products for AI-first or communications-enabled platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to take a product from 0 to 1 and own it through production.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills — able to translate customer problems into product solutions.
- Familiarity with TypeScript, React, Node.js, and Python.
- Willingness to work on-site in Berlin, Germany.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Temporal.io, Twilio, or Modal.
- Experience with voice infrastructure or telephony systems.
- Background at a startup or high-growth technology company.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Salary: €75,000 – €160,000 per year, depending on experience.
- Visa sponsorship is available.
LOCATION
This role is on-site in Berlin, Germany. Candidates must be willing and able to work from the Berlin office. Remote work is not available for this position.
