AI & Backend Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a full-stack engineering role sitting across the product and AI teams at a seed-stage B2B AI customer support startup. You will own end-to-end features, shape AI-powered capabilities, and help scale the agentic architectures that drive automated ticket resolution for technical B2B teams. The role offers real ownership and impact at an early-stage company pushing the boundaries of current-generation AI systems.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Design and implement full-stack product features from concept through production.

• Build and enhance AI features, including autonomous agent workflows and data or model pipelines.

• Collaborate closely with the team to plan, design, and launch new capabilities.

• Help make internal work processes AI-native by integrating AI coding agents and related tooling into day-to-day engineering.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 1 to 4 years of backend or AI engineering experience; strong new-grad candidates are welcome.

• Demonstrated success shipping backend systems or AI features to production.

• Hands-on experience building agentic AI systems, with solid intuition for autonomous-agent frameworks and system design.

• Experience integrating OpenAI models and applying prompt engineering techniques.

• Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and/or Firestore on GCP.

• Experience designing end-to-end architectures and building AI-powered data or model pipelines.

• Heavy user of AI coding agents (such as Codex, Claude Code, or Cursor), with concrete learnings or ideas for improving AI coding agent setups.

• Hobby projects involving LLMs or related AI topics, showing genuine curiosity beyond the day job.

• Startup drive and comfort operating in a hands-on, fast-moving environment.

• Already authorised to work in Germany; visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

LOCATION

Fully on-site in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. This is not a remote or hybrid role.
