Claude CodeCursor

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're a small, mission-driven energy technology company building a full-stack platform that enables hardware manufacturers and energy providers to offer dynamic electricity plans to European households. Our team operates at the frontier of AI-assisted development, licensed electricity retail, and complex domain engineering — and we're looking for a product-focused engineer who thrives at the intersection of customer discovery, end-to-end delivery, and engineering culture.

This is a high-ownership, zero-to-one role. You'll work directly with customers, shape the product, and ship production-grade experiences that move the business in a measurable way.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Sit with customers to dissect problems and develop product intuition that drives engineering decisions.
  • Ship end-to-end solutions across the full stack, taking features from discovery through to production.
  • Use AI-native development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) as genuine force multipliers for your output.
  • Own zero-to-one problems — think dunning workflows, customer portal re-engineering, billing infrastructure.
  • Prioritize ruthlessly: decide what to build, what to skip, and when to kill an initiative.
  • Solve core energy retail challenges: billing, procurement, customer retention, and cost optimization.
  • Shape engineering culture, tooling, and processes, and help raise the bar as the team grows.
  • Adapt quickly to new tools and methods, and bring teammates along to the frontier.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Must-haves

  • A track record of shipping real product work — we assess what you've built, not just years on a résumé.
  • 2+ years of software engineering experience delivering end-to-end, full-stack products to production.
  • Proven end-to-end ownership of zero-to-one problems, from discovery to live product.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-native codebases and AI-assisted development tools.
  • Comfort solving billing, procurement, customer retention, or cost-optimization problems in a consumer-facing or energy retail domain.
  • Experience shaping engineering culture, tooling, and processes in a small or early-stage team.
  • High ownership mindset with strong judgment and an ability to thrive in ambiguity.

Nice to have

  • Background in energy retail, utilities, or adjacent regulated industries.
  • Contributions to high-engineering-bar environments or notable open-source projects.
  • Experience operating with extreme ownership in a high-growth, fast-moving startup.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Salary: €80,000 – €120,000 per year, depending on experience.
  • Early-stage equity participation.
  • Direct influence over product direction and engineering culture at a pivotal stage.

LOCATION

  • On-site in Berlin, Germany (Mitte area). Remote work is not available for this role.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available — candidates must have existing authorization to work in Germany.
