Founding Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a Founding Engineer opportunity at an early-stage startup in San Francisco, where you'll be one of the first engineers shaping the product from the ground up. You'll work in a small, high-ownership team where your technical decisions and product instincts will have an outsized impact on the company's trajectory.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Build and own end-to-end product features across the full stack, from initial concept through to production.

• Contribute meaningfully to product direction, working closely with founders and early team members.

• Make foundational architecture decisions that will scale with the company.

• Move fast in a 0-to-1 environment, iterating on ideas and shipping with a high degree of autonomy.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 3–7 years of full-stack software development experience.

• Proven experience building products end-to-end at an early-stage startup, ideally in a 0-to-1 context.

• Comfortable owning both frontend and backend development.

• Strong product sense and the ability to influence product direction, not just execute on specs.

• Strong CS fundamentals, ideally from a rigorous academic program.

• Based in San Francisco, CA, or willing to relocate.

• Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

• Prior experience at a high-growth startup or large-scale technology company is a plus.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Salary range: $200,000 – $300,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
