Product Engineer (Mid-Level)

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a full-stack product engineering role at an early-stage AI recruiting startup, working directly alongside founders and a small team to build the core product. You will own features end-to-end, integrate AI capabilities into real user-facing flows, and help shape technical direction at a critical point in the company's growth.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Own product features from scoping and design through deployment and iteration in production.

• Design APIs and data models, and implement both frontend and backend code.

• Ship user-facing experiences that balance usability and performance, iterating based on feedback and metrics.

• Integrate LLM and AI capabilities into product flows to make intelligence reliable for end users.

• Design and maintain scalable backend services, data schemas, and operational tooling including CI/CD, monitoring, and testing.

• Collaborate directly with founders, product, and design to prioritize work and define success metrics.

• Participate in architecture and roadmap discussions, making pragmatic tradeoffs suited to early-stage growth.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 2 to 8 years of software engineering experience with a track record of shipping user-facing products.

• Strong full-stack skills: TypeScript and React or Next.js on the frontend, plus backend development in Python or Node.js.

• Experience with PostgreSQL and cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.

• Practical, production-focused experience integrating LLMs or AI services into applications (engineering, not research).

• Clear product sense and the ability to translate user problems into measurable, practical solutions.

• Comfort operating in small teams with limited process, high ambiguity, and broad scope across frontend, backend, and DevOps.

• Experience building multi-tenant or enterprise-ready systems, designing APIs, or working with real-time or high-throughput applications is a strong plus.

• Background in regulated industries such as healthcare, fintech, or legal, or experience with complex internal tooling, is a plus.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows is a plus.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Salary range: $150,000 to $300,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
