Field Engineer / FDE
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is the execution-focused side of a Forward Deployed Engineering function at an early-stage fintech building global identity infrastructure for businesses. You'll serve as the technical bridge between customers and the product team — owning implementations end-to-end, from scoping requirements to resolving integration issues in production.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Partner directly with customers to scope technical requirements early in the implementation process.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for integrations, onboarding, and product rollouts.
- Troubleshoot integration issues in production environments and guide customers toward scalable, long-term solutions.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to identify and reduce friction in implementation flows.
- Improve documentation, tooling, and internal processes to make future implementations faster and more repeatable.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 4–5+ years of experience in customer-facing technical roles such as field engineering, solutions engineering, technical support, or implementation delivery.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting and resolving integration issues in production environments.
- Proficiency with modern web application stacks and APIs (REST, webhooks, or event-driven architectures).
- Experience with Node.js, TypeScript, or JavaScript in production environments.
- Comfort working with relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL) and understanding data modeling for integrations.
- Experience documenting technical processes, APIs, or implementation guides for customer-facing audiences.
- Track record of influencing product decisions based on customer feedback in cross-functional teams.
- Domain expertise in compliance (KYB/KYC/AML) is the strongest differentiating signal for this role.
- Former Product Owners or Managers from fintech who led onboarding or KYC workflows are also actively considered.
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), message queues (Kafka/RabbitMQ), or cloud platforms (AWS or similar) is a plus.
- Clear, concise communicator who can translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- No visa sponsorship available.

The starting level for this role is approximately €93,000 base annually, with the next level at approximately €116,000 and an upper ceiling around €146,000. Level jumps are intentionally large.
LOCATION
