Founding Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a founding engineering role at an a16z-backed AI GTM automation startup, where you'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with the founding team to ship the core product. You'll own major product areas end-to-end — from APIs and backend systems to AI-powered features — with direct, immediate impact on real customers.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Collaborate daily with founders in person to define requirements, build features, and iterate rapidly on customer feedback.

• Build core product infrastructure including APIs, backend systems, and interfaces designed for both human users and AI agents.

• Ship production-ready AI features that power customer go-to-market workflows end-to-end.

• Join customer calls to demo solutions, surface needs, and translate insights directly into product improvements.

• Leverage AI coding agents and the latest tooling to accelerate development velocity with sound engineering judgment.

• Establish AI-native engineering workflows and processes that scale the team's output over time.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 3+ years of software engineering experience with a strong track record of shipping and iterating in production.

• Proficiency in Python and TypeScript for building APIs, backend systems, and user interfaces.

• Solid data modeling fundamentals and experience designing scalable production systems.

• Hands-on experience building and deploying AI/ML features in production environments.

• Comfort using AI coding agents and LLM-based development tools as part of a daily workflow.

• Experience working in early-stage startup environments with close founder collaboration.

• Ownership-oriented mindset with a desire for real influence over product and roadmap decisions.

• Bonus: Experience with GTM workflows, outbound campaigns, or customer-facing technical roles.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Salary range: $137,000 – $190,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
