ABOUT THE ROLE

A fast-growing, Y Combinator-backed enterprise AI automation company is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer based in Munich to embed directly with its largest DACH enterprise customers and help them become AI-native. You'll work alongside a dedicated Enterprise AI Transformation Lead, scoping, building, and shipping production-grade agents and integrations that deliver measurable business value — while feeding your learnings back into the core product.

This is a high-ownership, high-impact role at the intersection of deep engineering and strategic customer partnership. Expect significant travel across the DACH region.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Serve as the engineer on the ground at major DACH enterprise accounts, partnering closely with the AI Transformation Lead.
  • Embed on-site with customers to run workshops, hackathons, and implementation sprints.
  • Scope, build, integrate, debug, and teach customer teams to adopt production AI agents and workflows.
  • Ship end-to-end, high-leverage use cases: complex agents, custom integrations, MCP servers, and multi-step workflows.
  • Act as a trusted technical peer and sparring partner for customer CTOs and platform teams.
  • Leave behind systems that customers can independently own and operate.
  • Identify platform limitations and implement fixes directly alongside the core engineering team.
  • Drive product improvements by surfacing and prioritising customer-driven blockers.
  • Automate your own workflows by building agents that eliminate manual, repetitive tasks.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Must-haves

  • 3+ years of experience in enterprise software engineering, with a track record of delivering production-grade AI agentic workflows for enterprise customers.
  • Hands-on experience shipping agentic AI systems, tool-use loops, and LLM-powered features that operate reliably under load.
  • Strong full-stack engineering skills; able to scope and implement complete end-to-end solutions, including integrations with external enterprise systems and multi-step workflows.
  • Proven on-site experience with large DACH enterprise customers — running workshops, hackathons, and implementation sprints; capable of scoping a complex use case in a customer meeting and delivering it end-to-end.
  • Experience building custom integrations with enterprise systems and MCP servers for agent deployment.
  • Native-level German proficiency.
  • Based in Munich or genuinely willing to relocate, with the ability to travel extensively across DACH.

Nice-to-haves

  • Go programming language experience.
  • Founder or early-employee experience at a startup.
  • Familiarity with modern AI coding and agent-building tooling (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor, or similar).
  • High agency, sharp communication, low ego, and a strong sense of ownership.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Salary: €80,000 – €150,000 per year, depending on experience.
  • Opportunity to work at the frontier of enterprise AI at an early-stage, well-backed company.
  • Visa sponsorship: Not available — candidates must already hold the right to work in Germany.
