ABOUT THE ROLE
Join a small, high-caliber founding team at a pre-seed AI-native fintech startup building the infrastructure that powers private market operations — including fund accounting, reporting, reconciliation, and treasury automation. As a Backend Engineer, you'll own core backend systems with a deep focus on permissions, auditability, traceability, and observability, supporting both hosted and self-hosted deployment environments.
This is a ground-floor opportunity to shape the technical foundations of a product used by asset servicers and asset managers who rely on it for high-stakes, enterprise-grade workflows.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own and evolve backend infrastructure for permissions, auditability, traceability, and observability across all deployment environments.
- Design and manage deployment architectures for both hosted and self-hosted environments using infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Improve system reliability, performance, and security in production at an enterprise-grade standard.
- Partner closely with product teams to ship features quickly without sacrificing quality or maintainability.
- Drive AI-native development practices that enable rapid, high-quality releases.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required
- 1–6 years of backend development experience.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and NestJS for building backend services.
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and Prisma in production-grade environments.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi to manage cloud deployments.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with the broader stack: Inngest, Mastra, React, or Tailwind.
- Background in financial services, private markets, or enterprise SaaS products.
- Experience with self-hosted deployment models and strict data isolation requirements.
- Prior experience at a high-growth startup or in a founding-team environment.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Salary: €70,000 – €110,000 per year, depending on experience.
- Visa sponsorship is available for eligible candidates.
- Opportunity for meaningful early-stage equity and direct impact on product direction.
