Senior Full Stack Engineer at a bootstrapped AI platform studio in Munich, hybrid role, no visa sponsorship, salary €70k-90k.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are a bootstrapped AI platform studio based in Munich, Germany, building an all-in-one AI platform that empowers teams across the SME sector to integrate AI into their everyday workflows. Our platform already serves a large and rapidly growing user base across hundreds of companies, and we're scaling fast. You'll join a small, product-focused engineering team where your architectural decisions will have real, immediate impact.
We're looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer who thrives on complex infrastructure challenges, cares deeply about user experience, and wants to help shape engineering culture alongside a talented team.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own the most complex architectural problems on the platform — including multi-terabyte data synchronization and secure sandbox infrastructure.
- Architect, build, and ship high-quality full-stack features using React and TypeScript with a focus on long-term scalability and UX.
- Design and implement systems to synchronize and index large volumes of client data while enforcing fine-grained permissions.
- Build infrastructure to process millions of LLM calls per month with high reliability and security.
- Implement scalable, secure code sandbox solutions capable of spawning thousands of sandboxes per day.
- Create base infrastructure and tooling for fast custom integrations, enabling new systems to be connected in hours.
- Collaborate on technical roadmaps and drive alignment on architectural decisions with the wider development team.
- Debug production incidents, identify root causes, and implement durable fixes to maintain platform stability.
- Mentor junior engineers and elevate the codebase through thorough, constructive code reviews.
- Continuously improve development processes, code quality standards, and overall team performance.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and the surrounding ecosystem (Docker, CI/CD).
- Proven experience designing, scaling, and maintaining complex software architectures for high-growth products.
- Hands-on experience with tRPC (or an equivalent type-safe API communication framework), Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Experience with PostgreSQL relational data modeling and query performance optimization.
- Experience designing and implementing secure, multi-tenant sandbox environments.
- Experience operating at scale: synchronizing large datasets, handling high volumes of LLM/API calls, and building secure multi-tenant systems.
- Strong product ownership mindset with genuine attention to user experience and long-term product success.
- A passion for mentoring engineers and actively shaping engineering standards and processes.
- Willingness to work on-site in Munich, Germany (hybrid arrangement).
Nice to Have
- Prior experience working in AI platforms, LLM infrastructure, or similar AI/ML-adjacent products.
- Background at an IT consulting, enterprise software, or B2B SaaS company.
- Experience contributing to a fast-paced, small team environment where you've worn multiple hats.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Salary: €70,000 – €90,000 per year, depending on experience.
- Hybrid work arrangement based in Munich, Germany.
- A high-impact role in a close-knit, product-focused team at an early-stage company.
Please note: visa sponsorship is not available for this role. Candidates must already be authorised to work in Germany.
