Product Engineer
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a foundational product engineering role at a pre-seed AI-native fintech startup building the next generation of private-market operations tooling. As an early member of a small, high-caliber team in Berlin, you will lead the design and build of the core interface through which operations teams interact with AI agents — shaping the design system, review workflows, and human-in-the-loop UX that make automated output trustworthy and easy to act on.
You will have outsized impact on how users experience AI at work, working closely with operations stakeholders and contributing to a product that automates data capture, reconciliation, and reporting for asset servicers and asset managers.
Visa sponsorship is available for this role.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Develop and maintain the company's design system and UX patterns across a complex, workflow-driven application.
- Create product interfaces that connect users to AI agents and diverse data sources (emails, portals, bank feeds, file storage).
- Build human-in-the-loop flows for reviewing, approving, and acting on agent-generated outputs such as journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting packages.
- Conduct user research and usability testing with operations stakeholders to identify pain points and continuously refine product features.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required
- 1–7 years of professional frontend development experience.
- Proficiency in TypeScript and React.
- Hands-on experience with Tailwind CSS for UI styling.
- Experience developing, documenting, or evolving design systems for complex applications.
- A track record building workflow-driven interfaces that involve human review, exception handling, or approval steps.
- Experience conducting user research and usability testing to inform design decisions.
- Strong product intuition and UX craft — you think carefully about how users build trust with automated systems.
Nice to Have
- Interest in AI-agent products and the UX challenges of presenting automated outputs responsibly.
- Familiarity with private markets, financial operations, or enterprise SaaS workflows.
- Comfort iterating closely with operations or back-office stakeholders.
- Enthusiasm for the pace and ownership that comes with joining a founding-stage team.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Salary: €70,000 – €110,000 per year, depending on experience.
- Early-stage equity participation.
- Visa sponsorship available.
