ABOUT OUR CLIENT

Our client, pinndx, is a premier membership platform for trading education and live market analysis built on WordPress. Powered by high-frequency data pipelines and custom architecture, they provide real-time trading insights, dynamic charts, and exclusive community resources to paying members in a fast-moving market environment.

They are powered by a lean, execution-focused team with a proven product, active subscribers, and a clear product roadmap. As an agile company scaling its technology, they offer an environment where independent engineers can make an immediate, high-visibility impact while working alongside technical leadership.

We are looking for a WordPress Implementation Engineer to join the engineering team and take ownership of platform deployment, maintenance, security, and operational stability. This role sits at the critical intersection of platform reliability, third-party integrations, and subscriber support. You will work directly with the Technical Lead to execute technical specs, keep the platform healthy between releases, and ensure seamless delivery of real-time trading data to members.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Implement and Deploy Features: Execute implementation plans from written specs and checklists. Write, test, and debug code across a proprietary family of custom plugins, ensuring seamless releases on staging before deploying to production.
  • Manage Platform Health and Maintenance: Own the technical release calendar, managing routine WordPress core, plugin, and infrastructure updates alongside backup verification and database sanity checks.
  • Maintain Security and Infrastructure Standards: Enforce strict security protocols including input sanitization, nonces, cap checks, secret management, rate limiting, WAF rules, and access control on custom REST endpoints.
  • Triage Front-Line Technical Issues: Act as the primary technical contact for member access issues, billing anomalies (MemberPress/Stripe), SSO glitches, and session bugs. Resolve routine issues directly and escalate complex defects with actionable technical write-ups.
  • Run Post-Release Verification: Perform systematic regression testing across critical member journeys—including checkout, SSO, course progression, and community features—after every deployment.
  • Support Next-Gen Data Pipelines: Partner with the Technical Lead to maintain and integrate external Python microservices and real-time streaming architectures (Massive.com http://Massive.com WebSockets, Firebase Firestore/RTDB) delivering high-frequency market data.
  • Maintain Platform Runbooks: Build clear, standardized technical documentation and runbooks to guarantee platform operability and continuity.

MUST HAVE TOOLS

  • Firebase
  • BuddyBoss
  • OAuth / SSO

WHO YOU ARE

  • Experienced WordPress Developer: 4+ years of hands-on experience working with advanced WordPress internals (hooks, REST APIs, custom routing, capabilities, transients, object caching).
  • Data Model & Plugin Specialist: Proficient with custom data modeling at scale (specifically JetEngine CPTs, meta fields, relations, and REST writes) and comfortable inspecting direct SQL databases (phpMyAdmin).
  • Membership & Billing Expert: Demonstrated experience supporting production membership sites, with deep knowledge of MemberPress and Stripe integration troubleshooting.
  • Security-Minded Engineering Mindset: Natural instinct to validate/sanitize input, secure REST endpoints, protect auth flows, and treat billing and SSO systems with high-risk rigor.
  • Proactive Problem Solver: Self-starter capable of root-cause analysis in complex ETL/API setups without hand-holding. You prefer surgical edits over unnecessary rewrites and test thoroughly on staging first.
  • Exceptional Technical Communicator: Advanced written and spoken English skills, able to translate technical root-causes clearly for non-technical team members and stakeholders.

Bonus Points

  • Python-based microservices.
  • Hands-on experience with financial market data APIs (Massive/Polygon REST & WebSockets).
