WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE

As a Senior Front End Developer, you will have the opportunity to build and lead technical solutions that engage millions of sports fans globally, working with real-time sports data sources and modern front-end technologies to craft custom UI experiences.

Working as an effective Tech Lead within a multi-disciplinary delivery squad, you'll bridge design, product, and engineering.

One day you might be architecting component libraries, scoping technical requirements, and managing release pipelines across Dev, Staging, and Production environments. The next, you could be writing type-safe applications in TypeScript, optimizing web performance and accessibility, conducting code reviews, or establishing technical Guilds and Chapter initiatives to elevate development standards across the engineering team.

You'll take real ownership of front-end delivery across your squad, driving clean code practices and communicating technical decisions clearly to internal teams and external client stakeholders.

YOUR BACKGROUND

You don't need to tick every box, but we're generally looking for:

Expert Knowledge

• Core Web Stack: HTML5, CSS3, modern SASS/SCSS, responsive web architectures, and cross-browser/device testing and debugging

• TypeScript & JavaScript: Deep fluency in TypeScript, modern vanilla JavaScript (ES6+), type safety principles, JSON data structures, and consuming REST/GraphQL APIs (GET/POST)

• Build & Versioning: Advanced Git workflows, code management, build tools, and task automation

• Project Management: Experience using Jira for ticket estimation, task assignment, and delivery tracking

• Documentation: Proven track record of documenting front-end architectures, codebases, and integration guides

Competent / Working Knowledge

• Integration with third-party libraries and media services (e.g., video streaming providers, live data feeds)

• Package managers and modern build systems (NPM, Webpack/Vite/Gulp)

• Web performance optimization, Core Web Vitals, and responsive assets

• Web accessibility guidelines (WCAG standards)

• SEO considerations and technical implementation techniques

Leadership & Line Management (Optional / Desire-Based)

• Experience acting as a Tech Lead or Chapter Lead across front-end disciplines

• Ability or interest in people management (e.g., conducting 1:1s, performance reviews, and career coaching)
