About the Role

The Intermediate Python Backend Engineer (Level 2) serves as a technical backbone for feature delivery within our nearshore delivery PODs. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain high-performance Python microservices on AWS, while seamlessly integrating cutting-edge AI capabilities such as LLM APIs, Amazon Bedrock, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) workflows. You will anchor core backend features, write clean and scalable code, and collaborate directly with US-based client stakeholders and senior engineers in an agile environment.

This role is critical to accelerating our client's AI-driven software initiatives, directly impacting the scalability, intelligence, and overall reliability of their cloud ecosystem. By taking ownership of backend execution and continuous system optimization, you will ensure our engineering deliverables meet the highest standards of performance, security, and developer efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design Build performant, scalable Python APIs and microservices on AWS leveraging frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
  • Integrate Orchestrate modern AI capabilities into existing backend architectures, connecting services to LLM endpoints (Amazon Bedrock, OpenAI, Claude) and building RAG pipelines.
  • Optimize Manage cloud database operations, writing efficient SQL and NoSQL queries across AWS RDS (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and DynamoDB.
  • Lead Quality Standards through TDD, writing comprehensive unit and integration tests (pytest) while maintaining thorough API documentation.
  • Collaborate Communicate effectively in daily standups and sprint reviews, articulating technical blockers, feature estimations, and progress directly to US clients.
  • Monitor Maintain system health and production telemetry using AWS CloudWatch, actively fixing bugs and refactoring code for optimal execution.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of professional experience in backend software engineering using Python (AsyncIO, FastAPI/Django/Flask, SQLAlchemy).
  • 1–2+ years of hands-on experience developing, deploying, and supporting serverless and containerized services on AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, S3, ECS, RDS, DynamoDB).
  • Proven track record building and consuming RESTful APIs and working with containerization tools (Docker) and modern Git workflows.
  • Practical exposure to or strong technical experience with AI/GenAI workflows (LLM APIs, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Amazon Bedrock).
  • Solid understanding of relational database design (PostgreSQL or MySQL) and basic NoSQL concepts.
  • Ownership mindset with a methodical approach to problem-solving, debugging, and continuous learning.
  • Advanced English proficiency (B2+/C1 written and verbal) for seamless daily collaboration with US teams.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to Have

  • Working knowledge or basic familiarity with the Java / Spring Boot ecosystem in multi-stack backend environments.
  • Practical experience using AI-assisted coding tools like Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Claude Code.
  • Exposure to infrastructure-as-code or automated CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).
