Robotics Engineer
THE COMPANY
LUDO ROBOTICS is dedicated to building general-purpose robotic intelligence systems that are robust, adaptive, and capable of handling real-world scenarios. We believe that data-driven machine learning at massive scale is the key to unlocking these capabilities and enabling the widespread deployment of robots across society.
We are a new startup headquartered in Bay Area, California, with an office in Seoul, Korea. Our team spans a wide range of backgrounds and experience, from new graduates to seasoned domain experts. What matters most to us is ownership, speed, and intellectual curiosity - people who take responsibility, move fast, and enjoy thinking deeply about hard problems.
We are supported by a highly advanced AI Center within KRAFTON, a leading global video game company best known for the genre-defining worldwide success PUBG: Battlegrounds. KRAFTON has extensive experience building and operating large-scale, data-rich products, and we have secured investment from them. This gives us strong long-term backing, deep technical partnership opportunities, and access to world-class infrastructure and talent networks as we push robotic intelligence forward.
THE OPPORTUNITY
As a Robotics Engineer at Ludo Robotics, you will build the software - and own the hardware integration - that brings our robots to life and bridges our foundation models with reliable, real-world deployment. This is a hands-on, highly technical role at the intersection of software development and systems integration. You will translate complex real-world requirements into robust, deployable robotic solutions, bring them up and validate them on physical hardware, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ship and continuously improve them.
Depending on your strengths, your work may span navigation, motion planning and control, SLAM, perception, manipulation, and high-level behaviors - along with the sensor integration, calibration, and hardware bring-up that make them work on real platforms. You will write production-grade code, deploy state-of-the-art models developed by our research team, and trace and resolve failures across the hardware, software, and model layers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, develop, and deploy software for robotic systems - including programming, configuration, and validation - across navigation, motion planning and control, SLAM, perception, manipulation, and/or high-level behaviors.
- Write and maintain production-level C++ and Python code for our robotic platforms.
- Integrate sensors, actuators, and compute, and lead hardware bring-up, calibration, and validation on real robots.
- Deploy, integrate, and monitor robotic solutions in production environments and at field sites, ensuring robust performance and reliability.
- Test, troubleshoot, and debug robotic applications - tracing failures across the hardware, software, and model layers and reproducing edge cases.
- Work closely with ML and core robotics engineers to deploy state-of-the-art models and translate field learnings into system improvements.
- Continuously analyze, improve, and optimize robot algorithms and system performance for reliability and scalability.
- Build and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and tooling, and collaborate across hardware, operations, and R D teams to optimize performance and scalability.
QUALIFICATIONS
- BS, MS, or higher degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in robotics application development, system integration, or field deployment.
- Proficiency in C++ and Python.
- Hands-on experience developing and deploying software on real robots.
- Working knowledge of ROS/ROS2 or other robotics middleware platforms.
- Strong systems-level understanding of the software modules and interfaces in a robotic application, and how they interact with hardware.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong technical depth in at least one of: navigation, motion planning and control, SLAM, perception/computer vision, or manipulation.
- Experience integrating and deploying machine learning models on robotic systems.
- Background in autonomous systems - robotics, drones, autonomous vehicles, industrial automation, or similar.
- Familiarity with vision systems, simulation tools, and sensor integration and calibration.
- Hardware experience - sensor and actuator integration, robot bring-up, or working with embedded or real-time systems.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, and system design.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
