Job Overview:
We are seeking a MuleSoft Developer with experience in both development and production support of enterprise integration solutions. The role focuses on ensuring the stability, performance, and lifecycle management of MuleSoft integrations running on Mule Runtime 4.9 in a hybrid deployment environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with infrastructure, security, DevOps, and architecture teams to support runtime upgrades, server maintenance, incident resolution, security compliance, and integration enhancements while contributing to operational excellence and platform reliability
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide production support and operations for MuleSoft integrations and APIs running on Mule Runtime 4.9 in a hybrid environment (on-premise Windows servers with Anypoint Platform control plane).
- Assist in planning and executing MuleSoft runtime upgrades across environments (Dev, QA, UAT, Production), following established procedures to minimize risk and downtime.
- Perform Java version upgrades for Mule runtimes and help validate compatibility with existing integrations and dependencies.
- Support the maintenance and administration of on-premise Windows servers hosting Mule runtimes, including patching, configuration, and general server health and performance monitoring.
- Assist in identifying and remediating security vulnerabilities across MuleSoft applications, runtimes, and underlying servers in line with organizational security and compliance standards.
- Support certificate lifecycle management (SSL/TLS) including tracking expirations, renewals, and installation to help prevent service disruptions.
- Perform post-patching and post-upgrade validation, including health checks and smoke testing, to help confirm servers and applications are stable and fully operational.
- Participate in the triage, troubleshooting, and resolution of production incidents, assisting with root cause analysis and implementation of fixes to prevent recurrence.
- Monitor MuleSoft applications and server infrastructure using logging/monitoring tools to help identify and address issues before they impact production.
- Support and enhance existing MuleSoft integrations, APIs, and batch/large payload processing flows as part of ongoing maintenance and operational readiness.
- Develop DataWeave transformations for data mapping, and build custom Java classes/components to extend MuleSoft functionality where out-of-the-box connectors and components are insufficient.
- Follow MuleSoft development and coding standards (naming conventions, error handling, logging, project structure, reusability) to ensure consistency and maintainability across integrations.
- Use MuleSoft Vibes (formerly MuleSoft Dev Agent) to help accelerate flow generation, DataWeave scripting, and MUnit test creation, reviewing all AI-assisted output for compliance with coding and governance standards.
- Document operational runbooks, patching procedures, upgrade steps, and incident postmortems according to organizational standards.
- Collaborate with DevOps, infrastructure, and security teams to support maintenance windows, patch cycles, and change management activities.
- Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions to build MuleSoft skills and support team best practices.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3-4 years of overall IT experience, including hands-on MuleSoft development and production support experience.
- Hands-on experience with Mule Runtime 4.x (4.9.x preferred), Anypoint Platform, Anypoint Studio, and API-led connectivity.
- Hands-on experience with DataWeave for data transformation and mapping, and experience writing custom Java classes/components within MuleSoft applications.
- Working understanding of MuleSoft development and coding standards and best practices.
- Exposure to AI-assisted development tools such as MuleSoft Vibes (formerly MuleSoft Dev Agent), with a willingness to review and validate AI-generated code against team standards.
- Exposure to MuleSoft runtime upgrades, Java version upgrades, and hybrid deployment environments (on-premises servers with cloud-based control plane).
- Familiarity with maintaining and administering on-premises Windows servers, including patch management and server health monitoring.
- Familiarity with vulnerability assessment and remediation processes, security patching, and organizational compliance requirements.
- Working knowledge of SSL/TLS certificate management and PKI concepts.
- Exposure to post-patching/post-upgrade validation, health-check procedures, and change management practices.
- Experience participating in production incident troubleshooting, including triage, root cause analysis, and documentation.
- Working knowledge of API design, REST, SOAP, and related integration patterns.
- Basic understanding of integration architecture concepts including scalability, security, fault tolerance, and high availability.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments for MuleSoft solutions.
- Exposure to application and log monitoring tools (AppDynamics, ELK, or similar).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production support environment.
