Senior DevOps Engineer building and operating secure, scalable Azure cloud infrastructure for a US payroll platform.

Build the platform other engineers deploy on. PrismHR is the HR, payroll, and benefits platform used by employer-services organizations across the United States, backed by Vensure Employer Solutions. Our platform serves clients whose employees get paid on what we ship, which makes reliability engineering here consequential rather than abstract.

You will help design, build, and operate secure, scalable, highly available cloud infrastructure on Azure — and just as importantly, you will make it usable by engineering teams through infrastructure as code, CI/CD automation, and container orchestration. Concretely: designing, deploying, and managing Azure infrastructure across AKS, virtual networks, load balancers, storage accounts, Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and IAM, with real attention to cost optimization, capacity planning, and performance.

Building and maintaining Terraform modules that provision Azure infrastructure repeatably and under version control, enforcing IaC standards and environment parity across dev, QA, and production, and working with security and architecture to embed compliance into IaC pipelines. You will operate AKS clusters for production and non-production workloads — container deployments, scaling, rolling upgrades, resiliency patterns — and troubleshoot cluster, node, pod, and networking problems to keep availability high.

You will design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for both infrastructure and application deployment, automate build, test, release, and rollback, and integrate security scans, quality gates, and infrastructure validation into those pipelines. You will implement monitoring, alerting, and logging, participate in incident response and root cause analysis, and drive the post-incident improvements that actually stop the same thing happening twice.

You will work closely with Software Engineering, QA, Security, and Architecture as a shared owner of production rather than a downstream service desk.

You will need: • 4+ years of hands-on DevOps or platform engineering • Strong Azure: AKS, virtual networks, load balancers, storage accounts, Azure Monitor, Application Insights, IAM • Terraform — building and maintaining your own modules, not only running someone else's • Kubernetes in production, ideally AKS: deployments, scaling, rolling upgrades, resiliency, and real troubleshooting • CI/CD pipeline design and ownership, including automated rollback • Monitoring, alerting, and logging, plus genuine incident response experience • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation • Collaborative instincts across engineering, QA, security, and architecture Nice to have: security scanning and compliance automation in pipelines · cost optimization with measured results · Azure Policy and governance · scripting depth in Python, PowerShell, or Bash · payroll, HCM, or other regulated-domain SaaS experience.

The schedule: 1:00 PM – 10:00 PM IST, Monday to Friday. Not a night shift — your final hours overlap the start of the US East Coast working day, which is when deployment windows and incident coordination happen. Your mornings are your own. On-call, stated plainly: this role participates in an on-call rotation. We would rather you weigh that honestly now than discover it in month two, and we are happy to walk through what the rotation actually looks like during the process.

Competitive compensation, health coverage, certification and learning support, and a platform role with genuine scope to shape how engineering ships. Apply now.
