Product Engineer

This position is responsible for new product release and maintenance of existing ACS (Air-Conditioning Service) products.
This will include component and assembly drawing creation and maintenance, bill of materials, product testing and validation, component and supplier evaluations, problem solving, and production issue support. The candidate will work closely with a cross-functional team to deliver products on-time, on-spec, and on-budget. To be successful, the candidate must be innovative, creative, detail-oriented, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple projects simultaneously.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS) Document mechanical designs for AC service products and maintain comprehensive technical specifications and drawings. ). Create test plans and reports to validate design concepts and ensure compliance with performance requirements. Create, monitor, and implement Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) for product design updates and maintenance. Evaluate and qualify new components and suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and supply chain reliability.
Troubleshoot manufacturing issues to assist with reducing warranty costs and improving product reliability. Bring knowledge of local manufacturing processes into the design process to ensure proper Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA). Perform design analysis and FMEAs on system designs to assure form, fit, function, and safety, as well as provide design expertise for process FMEAs. Develop and oversee prototype builds and testing protocols to validate design feasibility and performance metrics.
Conduct cost analysis and provide budget recommendations for new product development and design modifications. Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for design optimization and manufacturing efficiency. Represent the Design Engineering Team with professionalism and integrity when communicating with customers, cross-functional teams, and the entire organization.
