We are seeking a highly engaged mid-level Embedded Software Engineer to join our team. This role offers a fast-paced environment where you will take ownership of feature development and work with minimal supervision on critical projects.

We are looking for individuals with strong technical fundamentals in low-level systems programming who are eager to learn our product deeply and play a key role in system integration. This position requires working primarily onsite with some hybrid flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop embedded software using C/C++ within constrained environments, defining technical approaches. Implement state machines and handle asynchronous events (e.g., interrupts, signals). Work with operating system concepts including process scheduling, resource sharing, and synchronization. Integrate networking capabilities into embedded devices (basic IP/MAC layer knowledge required).

Required Qualifications

Experience: 3-5 years of professional experience in embedded systems development Core OS Knowledge: Solid understanding of fundamental OS concepts (kernel vs. user space, task scheduling, memory management, and synchronization primitives).

Programming Languages

Proficiency in Python, C and/or C++, including object-oriented principles.

Networking Basics

Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, MAC addresses, packet inspection tools).

Autonomy

Demonstrated ability to solve problems independently.

Documentation

Proven track record of learning from specification documents and adapting to new protocols or standards.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with containerized Linux user space applications. Exposure to Yocto or kernel driver development (not mandatory, but beneficial). Experience with space networking technologies and standards. DoD Secret clearance.

Compensation

Base salary range is $100,000-135,000/year, depending on qualifications. SEAKR has very rich medical, dental and vision insurance plans, along with a generous 401(k) retirement plan. In addition to base salary, employees are eligible for a year-end bonus. SEAKR offers a variety of paid leave, such as vacation, sick, bereavement, and FMLA.
