Lead Data Engineer

We are looking for Senior Data Architect for our Fortune 500 client and their insurance client. You'll own the data workstream inside a large-scale business and technology transformation programme - shaping the target data architecture, driving delivery, and keeping client stakeholders aligned from requirements to go-live. This is a long-term remote-first contract position with a preferred location in Europe.

Responsibilities Lead the end-to-end data workstream within a major transformation programme Architect the integration layer powering reporting and analytics on the client's enterprise data platform Scale the workstream and delivery team as programme scope grows Partner directly with client programme leadership and senior business stakeholders to align priorities and unblock delivery Drive requirements definition and solution design across the data landscape Coordinate cross-functional teams spanning business and technology domains Own risk, dependency, and governance management across the workstream Work Conditions Start Date : September Location : Remote with occasional visits in Europe Long-term contract based-role: 12+month Strong SQL skills for ETL, data modeling, and performance tuning.

Proven track record as a Data Architect, Data Delivery Lead, or Data Transformation Lead , delivering enterprise-scale data transformation Experience leading complex programmes with multiple, often competing, stakeholders Deep fluency in modern cloud-based data ecosystems Consulting-grade communication — comfortable presenting to senior business and IT stakeholders alike Experience managing distributed delivery teams 10+ years of experience in data engineering Technical Requirements Mandatory AWS Cloud Data Platforms Data Lake / Lakehouse Architecture Data Integration Data Architecture Reporting & Analytics Nice to Have Snowflake Dataiku Guidewire Insurance industry experience
