Senior Backend Developer

David Kennedy Recruitment is working with a technology company that is seeking to onboard a Senior Developer to join their team. The successful candidate will turn business requirements into well-structured, secure web systems (or background processes and scripts) and keep extending them so they can evolve sustainably over the long term.

Senior Backend Developer Location: Thailand, Remote Model: Remote Employment type: Full time DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Translate business requirements into clear system designs and working software Extend and evolve existing systems so they continue to grow sustainably Build secure systems that follow established standards, with real protection against common attack vectors Design, build and document APIs for other teams and systems to consume Use AI tools to accelerate development, and rigorously review and validate all AI-generated output Verify that systems meet requirements through systematic testing, review and validation Communicate technical decisions clearly to engineers and non-technical stakeholders REQUIREMENTS: 5+ years of experience building web systems with PHP, Go or Node.js Solid understanding of web security standards, with practical, working approaches to attack prevention Strong grasp of different API styles, able to consume existing APIs and design new ones Hands-on use of AI to assist system development, with the discipline to review AI-generated work Ability to inspect and verify systems to confirm they meet requirements Working knowledge of both SQL and NoSQL databases Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving and technical decision-making Strong communication skills, able to explain complex topics simply to the team and stakeholders Collaborative team player, open to ideas and feedback Eager to learn new technologies and adapt to changing environments Good command of English, spoken and written BENEFITS: Fully remote work from Thailand Room to experiment, with space to test new ideas and turn promising ones into real work Open culture where the team’s opinions and new ideas are welcome And many more!
